Sesame Ahi Tuna

This succulent tuna is quick to prepare, and is served in many fine-dining restaurants.

  • cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • tablespoon honey
  • 1
  • tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3
  • tablespoons fresh, chopped cilantro

  • cup sesame seeds
  • 1
  • tablespoon olive oil
  • Serves 2


    1. In a resealable plastic bag combine soy sauce, garlic, honey, sesame oil and cilantro. Add tuna; seal bag, turning to coat. Refrigerate 20 minutes.
    2. Place sesame seeds in a shallow dish. Remove tuna from marinade; discard marinade. Press both sides of tuna into sesame seeds to coat.
    3. In a large nonstick skillet heat oil over medium- high heat. Add tuna; sear 2 minutes per side. Serve immediately.
